A meter having a sensitivity of 2k12 NV is used for the measure-
ment of voltage across a circuit having an output resistance of
1k, and an open circuit voltage of 8 V. Whast is the reading of
meter at its 10 V scale?

Answer:

Consider a voltmeter setup to Read the open circuit voltage

We have

output resistance = 1kΩ, Open circuit voltage Vo = 8V, Sensitivity = 2k ohm/V,

Full scale division, FSD = 10V

Rv= Sensitivity * FSD

RV=2KΩ/V∗10V=20KΩ

Now by voltage divisor Rule we can write output voltage,

Vm= (8V∗20K Ω) / 21k Ω = 7.62V
