Given : A milkman gives 1 litre 500 ml of milk to one customer and 1 litre milk to another customer.

To Find  : how much litres of milk did he give?

Solution:

milk given to one customer =  1 litre 500 ml

1 litre = 1000 ml

=> 500 ml =  500/1000 litre

=> 500 ml = 0.5 litre

milk given to one customer =  1 litre + 0.5 litre

= 1.5 litre

Milk given to another customer = 1 litre

Total milk given = 1.5 + 1  = 2.5 litre
