1) Maximum quantity of milk filled in the tank in liters = 16760 l

2) Total surface area of the tank = 37.71 m.

Given Data:

The milk tank in the shape of cylinder with hemisphere of same radii attached to both ends.

The total height if the cylinder is 6 meter.

the radius of hemisphere is 1 meter. Hence r = 1 meter

To find the height of cylinder h= 6 -1 -1 =4 meter

To Find:

1) To find the maximum quantity of milk filled in the cylinder tank.

2) To find the total surface area of the tank.

Solution: To find capacity of milk filled in the cylinder tank.

Volume of tank = Volume of cylinder + volume of 2 hemisphere

    since, Volume of cylinder = \pi r^{2} h

               Volume of hemisphere = \frac{2}{3}\pi r^{3}

Volume of tank = \pi r^{2} h + 2(\frac{2}{3}\pi r^{3} )

                         = \frac{22}{7} \times 1^{2} \times4  + 2(\frac{2}{3}\times \frac{22}{7} \times1^{3} )

                         = \frac{88}{7} + \frac{88}{21}

                         = \frac{352}{21}

                         = 16.76 m^{3}.

Quantity of milk filled = 16.76 m^{3}

                                   = 16.76 \times 1000

              Quantity            = 16760 Liters.

2) To find the total surface area of the tank.

Total surface area of tank = Total surface area of cylinder + Total surface area of 2 number hemisphere.

T.S.A = T.S.A of cylinder + T.S.A of 2 hemisphere

        = 2\pi rh + 2(2\pi r^{2} )

        = 2\pir ( h + 2r )

        =  2\times\frac{22}{7} \times1(2(1)+4)

       =2\times\frac{22}{7} \times6

      = \frac{264}{7}

 T.S.A     =37.71meter

Hence we get,

1) Maximum quantity of milk filled in the tank in liters = 16760 l

2) Total surface area of the tank ==37.71meter
