A milkman earns a profit of 20 on every litre of
milk he sells and loses 30 on every litre that is
not sold.
(1) If on a day he sells 18 litres of milk
and is left with 7 litres of milk unsold, then what
is the profit or loss?
(2) If he neither gains nor
loses and does not sell 6 litres of milk, how many
litres of milk have been sold?

Answer:

1)150Rs

2)9litres

Step-by-step explanation:

Que(1)-

He sells 18 lit. so his profit=18×20=360Rs.

but, left milk is 7 lit. so he lost=7×30=210Rs.

so,

the profit=360-210=150Rs.

Que(2)-

He neither gains nor loses and doesn't sell 6lit.

so, we have to gain some amount to fill loss

loss= gains

let he sell x litre of milk

so,

6×30=20×x

9litre=x(milk not sold)

*also look that-

so the total milk sold by milkman=milk sold+not sold

=6+9lit.

=15lit.
