A milkman sells a milk by mixing two types of milk in the ratio 3:5. The first one costs
him Rs 20 / Litre and the second one costs him Rs 30 / Litre. If he sells the milk at Rs
40 / Litre, what is his daily profit if he sells 100 Litres daily?

Answer:

Let k be common factor then he purchases 3k liter and 5k liter of milk which costs him= 3k*20+ 5k*30 = 210k /-

The selling price of 8k liter milk@ 40 per litre= 40*8k=320k/-

Now profit= sp-cp=320k-210k = 110k/-

This is the profit made on 8k liter

so profit on 1 liter= 110k/8k = 55/4 = 13.75/-

So on 100 liter profit = 1375/-
