Solution:

Given,

Length of minute hand=14cm

Minute hand is also the radius of the clock.

Thus,r=14cm

To find:

Distance and displacement

Here,

The distance travelled by minute hand clock from 10:00 to 10:30 is the half of the circumference of the clock.

Displacement is the twice the length of minute hand clock.

Now,

distance =  \frac{2\pi \: r}{2}  = \pi \: r =  \frac{22}{7}  \times 14 = 22 \times 2 = 44cm

Displacement,

2r=2(14)=28cm

Thus,the distance covered by minute hand clock is 44 cm between 10:00 to 10:30.

Length hang of the minute hand = 14 cm

Consider the clock as circle and minute hand as Radius of the circle

10.00 to 10.30 = 1/2 hour

In 1 hour it covers total clock

So, Part traversed in minute hand = 1/2

Distance traversed = 1/2 of Circumference of the circle

= 1/2(2πr)

= 1/2(2 * 22/7 * 14)

= 1 (22 * 2)

= 44 cm

Displacement = distance between initial position and final position

Here distance between 10.00 and 10.30

It is nothing but diameter of the clock

Displacement = 2r = 2(14) = 28 cm

So, Distance = 44 cm Displacemrnt = 28 cm.
