Given : A Minar of height 30 m , boy 1. 5 m , Angle of elevation α & β , Sin(α+β) = 1  Cos(β - α) = √3 / 2

To find : Distance covered by boy

Solution:

Height of Minar above boy = 30 - 1.5 = 28 m

Sin( α + β) =  1

=>  α + β = 90°

Cos( β - α) =  √3 /2

=>  β - α = 30°

Adding both 2 β = 120°

=>  β = 60°

& α = 30°

Tan 30°  =  28.5/ (initial Horizontal Distance )

=> initial Horizontal Distance  = 28.5√3

Tan 60°  =  28.5/ (Final Horizontal Distance )

=> Final Horizontal Distance  = 28.5/√3

Distance covered =  28.5√3 - 28.5/√3

= (28.5 * 3 - 28.5)/√3

= 57/√3

= 19√3  m

= 32.9 m

the distance he walked towards the building ​ =  19√3  m = 32.9 m
