they didn't have enough fuel to reach the last planet on their list on which they could found life so they uses the gravity of Black Hole like a slingshot so that they can utilise the speed generated by the slingshot method to reach the final planet and the main character also detaches his spaceship from the main spaceship and then he falls into the black hole with his spaceship and then into the black hole his spaceship was destroyed so he is ejected from the ship then he went unconscious but in his space suit oxygen was left.(i gave you the starting of the story and yes it is a part of that movie but you should be able to elaborate it). even light cannot pass through black hole and the Gravity black hole is very very strong it can reduce a planet to the size of a marble scientist also believe about white hole which is connected to a black hole so they believe that black hole acts as a portal between different parts of the universe but any white hole has not been discovered yet.if you dont have enough time just watch that blackhole scene of interstellar on you tube
