A mirror produces a magnification of +3, when an object is at a distance 20 cm from the mirror, find position of image.

Given,
Linear Magnification (m) = +3
Object Distance (u) = 20 cm (negative)
According to the question,
m = -(v/u)
.... where 'v' is the position of Image
+3 = -(v/-20)
+3 = v/20
+60 cm = v
Image is 60 cm away from the mirror and it is a virtual image and a magnified one i.e. size of image is triple the size of object.
