Given :  A mixture consists of 45 5 /11 % sand and 36 4 / 11 % gravel and the rest cement .

To find : the weight of mixture which contains 4 kg weight of cement

Solution:

Sand =  45 5 /11  %  =  500/11  %

gravel  = 36 4/11 %  =  400/11  %

Cement = 100  -   500/11   -  400/11

= 200/11  %

Let say total mixture  = 11X  kg

Then cement    = (200/1100)11X   = 2X   kg

Cement = 4 kg

2X = 4

=> X = 2

Hence 11X  = 11 x 2

=> 11X = 22  kg

total mixture  = 22  kg
