To find :-
- If 5 litres of water is added to the mixture the ratio becomes 4:5 the quantity of alcohol In the mixture??
Solution :-
Let alcohol be 4x
And, Let water be 3x
So,
➞
By cross-multiplication, We get :-
➞ 5x = 3x + 5
➞ 5x - 3x = 5
➞ 2x = 5
➞ x = 2.5
Hence, If 5 litres of water is added to the alcohol mixture. It will be :-
- 4x = 2 × 2.5 = 10 Litres.
