Answer :-

  • If 5 litres of water is added to the mixture the ratio becomes 4:5 the quantity of alcohol In the mixture will become 10 Litres.

Given :-

  • Ratio of alcohol and water mixture = 4:3
  • If 5 litres of water is added to the mixture.

To find :-

  • If 5 litres of water is added to the mixture the ratio becomes 4:5 the quantity of alcohol In the mixture??

Solution :-

Let alcohol be 4x

And, Let water be 3x

So,

\bf \dfrac{4x}{3x} + 5 = \dfrac{4}{5}

By cross-multiplication, We get :-

➞ 5x = 3x + 5

➞ 5x - 3x = 5

➞ 2x = 5

➞ x = 2.5

Hence, If 5 litres of water is added to the alcohol mixture. It will be :-

  • 4x = 2 × 2.5 = 10 Litres.

Therefore, If 5 litres of water is added to the mixture the ratio becomes 4:5 the quantity of alcohol In the mixture will become 10 Litres.

.If 5 litres of water is added to the mixture.

To Find:-

The quantity of alcohol in the mixture = ?

Solution:-

Let alcohol be 4x.

And,Let water be 3x.

So,

 \sf \implies \frac{4x}{3x}  + 5 =  \frac{4}{5}

By cross - multiplication,we get :-

 \sf 5x = 3x + 5 \\  \\  \sf 5x - 3x = 5 \\  \\  \sf 2x = 5 \\  \\  \sf x = 2.5

  • The alcohol added in the mixture is = 4x = 4 × 2.5 = 10 litres of alcohol added in the mixture.

Therefore, 10 litres of alcohol added in the mixture.
