A mixture contain milk and water in the ratio 5:4. If 8 litre water is added to mixture the ratio of a milk and water becames 5:6. Find the quantity of water in original mixture

let the value be 5x for milk and 4x for water ..for first case.

then,we can say

=5x/4x=5x/6x-8.

=1/4x=1/6x-8. (both multiplied 5x.

=4x=6x-8

=8=6x-4x

=8=2x

x=4..

quantity in original mixture is 4x or 4×4

=16 litre
