Before adding 6 more liters of milk:

Ratio : Milk = Water = 2 : 3

After adding 6 more liters of milk:

Ratio : Milk = Water = 4 : 3

............................................................................................................

STEP 1: Define x and y

Let the constant ratio before adding the 6 liters of milk be x

Let the constant ratio before after the 6 liters of milk be y

.............................................................................................................

STEP 2: Form equations and solve for x and y

2x + 6 = 4y -------------- [ 1 ]

3x = 3y ------------------ [ 2 ]

From [ 2 ]:

3x = 3y

x = y ------------------ Substitute into [ 1 ]

2x + 6 = 4x

2x = 6

x =3 ------------------ Substitute into [ 2 ]

3x = 3y

3(3) = 3y

3y = 9

y = 3

.............................................................................................................

STEP 3: Find quantity of water:

Water = 3x = 3(3) = 9 liters

.............................................................................................................

Answer: There is 9 liters of water.
