TooFree: Why did you use (2x + 63) - 5x? Isnt that the ratio for milk before and after?
TooFree: your ratio is milk before/ milk after = water before / water after right?
desiboyz3: equation 1

Before :

Milk : Water = 5 : 2

Multiply the ratio with a factor of 2

Milk : Water = 10 : 4

After :

Milk : Water = 2 : 5

Multiply the ratio with a factor of 5

Milk : Water = 10 : 25

Since no milk is added, we know that the ratio of water has increased from 4 to 25

Find the parts that made up 63 liters of water:

25 - 4 = 21

21 parts = 63

Find 1 part:

1 part = 63 ÷ 21 = 3

Find 10 parts (Milk):

10 parts = 3 x 10 = 30

Find 25 parts (Water):

25 parts = 3 x 25 = 75

Difference between the milk and water = 75 - 30 = 45 liters

Answer: 45 liters

tashi10: 45 or 14????
