mole fraction = moles of solute                                                      

                      moles of solute+moles of solvent  

molecular weight of  ethanol = 24+5+16+1= 46g

molecular mass of water = 18 g

414 g of ethanol has = 414 =   9 moles

                                     46  

18 g of water has  1 mole   18/18=1

mole fraction =      n1        

                         n1+n2

1/1+9= 1/10= 0.1
