Given:

A mixture has milk, water and juice in the ratio 6 : 4 : 1

To find:

Total quantity of mixture initially.

Solution:

1) The ratio of milk, water and juice is 6 : 4 : 1 so the quantity must be 6x, 4x and x respectively.Total would be 11x.

2) As per the question the 6 liter of the juice is added then juice increased by the 200% so the ratio will be 6 : 4 : 3 and the quantity would be 6x, 4x and 3x. Total would be 13x.

3) 6 lit juice = 13x-11x

  • 6 lit= 2x
  • x = 3 lit.

4) Initial quantity of the mixture 11x = 11×3 = 33 lit.

Total quantity of mixture initially is 33 liter.
