A mixture of He and Ne gases is collected over water at 28°C and 745 mm of Hg. If the partial
pressure of He is 368 mm of Hg. What is the partial pressure of Ne? (in mm of hg) (Vapour pressure
of water at 28°C=28.3mm Hg)

Answer:

the vapour pressure of 28 so is of 28.3 mmhg based on the Delta mslaw recording part i a l pressure of gas mixture the total pressure is defined as follows

P=p(Ne)+p(He)+p(H2I)

does partial pressure of neon equals

p(neon)=P- p(He)+p(H2O)

=745mm

Hg - 368mm Hg - 28.3mm Hg

=348.7mm Hg
