There should be 2 g of H₂ and 16 g of O₂
1) Hydrogen and Oxygen reacts to form Water at high temperatures and pressure.
2) The reaction that takes place is 2H₂ + O₂ -----> 2H₂O.
3) So, two moles of Hydrogen reacts with one mole of oxygen to form two moles of Water.
4) One mole of Water weighs 18 gram.
5) Since The given mass of water is 18 gram. Hence the reaction for the question is H₂ + 1/2O₂ -----> H₂O
6) Hence required weight of Hydrogen is 2 grams and of Oxygen is 16 grams.
