Mixture contains 7% water.

Therefore, 12 litre of the mixture contains

12×7÷100 litre of water

Suppose x litre of milk should be added to to 12 litres of mixture to reduce water to 4%.

Total quantity of the mixture now = 12+x

Concentration of water = 4%

Therefore,

(12+x)4÷100=12×7÷100

(12+x)4=84

12+x=21

x=9

Hope this helps you!
