A mixture of milk and water in a jar contains 28 litres milk and 8 litres water .x litre milk and x litre water are mixed to form a mixture .if 40% of the new mixture is 20 litres ,then find the value of x

Answer:

Given, 20L.→10 %water

=20×10100=2 litre water

let x L of water to be added to the soln.(20L)

∴(2+x)=25100×(20+x)

⟹8+4x=20+x

⟹3x=12

⟹ x=4

thus 4 litres of water to be added to the given mixture.(Ans.)
