Given,

No. of the mole of hydrogen=2 mole

No. of a mole of argon gas= 1mole

Temperature=T

To Find,

The kinetic energy of the molecules of the given gas mixture.

Solution,

We can find the total kinetic energy of the molecules of a given gas mixture by following procedure.

For 2 mole of diatomic hydrogen oxygen with no of viberation mode.

u1 = 2 \times  \frac{5}{2}  \times r \times t

For one mole of monoatomic argon gas with no of vibration mode.

u2 = 1 \times  \frac{3}{2}  \times r \times t

So, U= U1+U2

5rt + 1.5rt

=6.5RT

so total kinetic energy of gas mixture is 6.5RT.
