s.p. = 3120

loss percent = 4%

c.p.= x

x - ( 4% * x ) = 3120

100x - 4x / 100 = 3120

96x / 100 = 3120 x = 3120 * 100 /96 = 3250 c.p.

= 3250 in second case,

s.p.=3640

c.p. = 3250

profit = 3640 - 3250

= 390 profit %

= profit /c.p.* 100

= 390 / 3250 * 100

= 12%.
