• Given data :

The given model of the reservoir empties itself in 10 minutes.

And the size ratio of the model reservoir to the the prototype reservoir is 1:25 .

- Let,the sizes of model reservoir and prototype reservoir = x and 25x ( assume x as a variable to find out the time for emptying the prototype reservoir )

- Now,

x sized reservoir takes = 10 minutes

25x sized reservoir will take = 10×25 = 250 minutes

So,the prototype reservoir will take 250 minutes or 4 hours 10 minutes (term of unit conversion 60 minutes = 1 hour) for emptying itself. (Answer)
