Given :  A model weighing 45 kg is standing on a pencil heel each having an area of cross- section of 2 cm square

To Find : the pressure exerted on the floor.

Solution:

Pressure = Force / Area

Force = ma

m = mass = 45 kg

a = g = 10 m/s²

Force = 45 * 10  = 450 N

standing on a pencil heel each having an area of cross- section of 2 cm square

Area = 2 * 2 cm² = 4cm²

= 4 * 10⁻⁴ m²

Pressure =  450 / (4 * 10⁻⁴)

= 112.5 * 10⁴  N/m²

= 1.125 * 10⁶ N/m²

= 1125 kN/m²

or  1.125 MPa

MPa = Mega Pascal

Answer:

Pressure = Force / Area

Force = ma

m = mass= 45 kg

a = g = 10 m/s²

Force = 45* 10 = 450 N

standing on a pencil heel each having an area of cross-section of 2 cm square

Area = 2 * 2 cm² = 4cm² = 4*10-4 m²

Pressure = 450 / (4*10-4)

= 112.5 * 104 N/m²

= 1.125 * 106 N/m²

= 1125 kN/m²

or 1.125 MPa.
