Given :  A model weighing 45 kg is standing on a pencil heel each having an area of cross- section of 2 cm square

To Find : the pressure exerted on the floor.

Solution:

Pressure = Force / Area

Force = ma

m = mass = 45 kg

a = g = 10 m/s²

Force = 45 * 10  = 450 N

standing on a pencil heel each having an area of cross- section of 2 cm square

Area = 2 * 2 cm² = 4cm²

= 4 * 10⁻⁴ m²

Pressure =  450 / (4 * 10⁻⁴)

= 112.5 * 10⁴  N/m²

= 1.125 * 10⁶ N/m²

= 1.125 MPa

MPa = Mega Pascal

45 kg model is standing on pencil hell each having cross-section of 2 cm².

Now, total area of two heels (for two legs)

 = 2 \times 2 = 4  {cm}^{2}  = 4 \times  {10}^{ - 4}  \:  {m}^{2}

Now, pressure will be :

P =  \dfrac{F}{area}

 \implies P =  \dfrac{mg}{area}

 \implies P =  \dfrac{45 \times 10}{4 \times  {10}^{ - 4} }

 \implies P = 11.25 \times  {10}^{5}

 \implies P = 1.125 \times  {10}^{6}  \: Pa

 \implies P = 1.125  \: MPa

So, pressure on ground is 1.125 MPa.
