Answer:

total height=80

1 climb height=5

1 slip height=2

time to climb and slip minutes=time taken for 1 consecutive climb and slip=2 min

i.e; 1 minute to climb and another 1 minute to slip=2min

Note1:If slip is also in same minute then=1 min

“+1″ as last step.

So,

[(80–5)/(5–2)]*2+1

[75/3]*2+1

[25]*2+1

50+1

51 min.

Note2:If u get in decimal value in brackets i.e; [(total height-climb height)/(climb height-slips height) ] then take next number into consideration!!

51 mins

In first 1 min, monkey climbs 5 metres,

In second 1 min, it slips down 2 metres.

So it climbs 3 metres every 2 mins, except the last minute. In the last minute, it would cover all 5 metres and escape.

So keeping 1 min aside for last 5 metres.

Total distance to be covered is 80m, in which we subtract the last 5 m for last climb.

So, to cover 75 m:

Time required=75/3 * 2 = 50mins

Adding that last 1 min, it takes 51 mins.

this is interesting and tricky..

i was also confused 1st time..you will get answers down also .. but remember why we cant calculate by cross method directly ????

because 5–2 =3 meter ..this time is monkeys return time after jump.. so if u calculate by cross method it will get around 53 minute something… that time is his goes up and come down at 80th meter .... so that will be wrong.. as monkey climbs after 5 meter .. 80–5 will be point upto what you should do calculations.. and add more a minute..

A monkey climbs 10 meters on a pole in 1 minute but slips 2 meters in the next minute, in how much time will he reach the top of the pole 15 meters long? Assume that he starts from the bottom of the pole.

Catch of question : When Money jump last 5m he will not slip to 2m as he will reach the top position.

Solution :

1 min : Monkey jump to 5 m

2 min : Monkey slip 2m

–---------------------------------------

So, in 2 min Total distance covered by Monkey 3m.

So, 75m can be covered in (75/3)*2 = 50 min

In 51min he can jump remaining 5m (total 80m) without any slip.

Final Answer : 51 minutes.

Your newborn may be vulnerable to these 6 serious diseases.

Since the monkey in the first minute climbs up 5 meters but in the second it decends by 2 meters it means that it is ascending at the rate of 3 meters per two minutes except for the last.

So it covers 3 meters per two minutes

It means that it will climb up 75 meters in 50 minutes and for the remaining 5 meters 1 minute more.

It implies that to cover a distance of 80 meters the monkey will take 50+1 minutes i.e, 51 minutes.

Hope it helps.

The monkey climbs 5 m in a minute and slips 2 m in every alternate minute.Hence the monkey climbs 5+5–3=7 m in 2 minutes.I

In last minute the monkey will climb 5 m and it will climb rest 80–5=75 m in earlier operation.

Hence the monkey will climb 75 m in 2/7×75=150/7=21.43 minutes.

So the monkey will take 21.43+1=22.43 minutes or 22 minutes and 26 seconds to climb the peak of the pole.
