Given :

Height of the pole = 15m

Height of pole monkey should reach = 10m

To Find :

No of attempts required for the monkey to reach the height = ?

Solution :

• For every attempt made the monkey climbs 3m and slips 2m

• Distance travelled in each attempt = 3-2 = 1m

• Distance travelled by monkey in 7 attempts = 7m

• In the eight attempt the monkey would climb up initially 3m and he climbs the 10m height of pole and it doesn't matters if the monkey slips down

In eight attempts the monkey will be able to climb 10m of the pole
