A monkey is trying to climb a pole measuring 15 m , which is greased. He tries to climb 3 m and slips down 2 m every time . In how many attempts will the monkey be able to climb 10 m of the pole ?

Solution :-

Distance needed to be climbed by the monkey = 10 meter .

Now , Given that a monkey tries to climb 3 meter and slip down 2 meter every time due to the grease is applied on the pole.

So, after 3 meter the monkey comes 2 meter down in 1 attempt

→ Monkey climbs 1 meter in 1 attempt

so, Monkey will climb 7 meter in 7 attempts

And the next attempt, the monkey will reach at 10 meter height.

Therefore,

Attempt taken by monkey to reach 10 meter

= 7 + 1

= 8 attempts
