'A monochromatic light source of freq.villuminates
a metallic surface and ejects photoelectrons. The
photo - electrons having max.energy are just able
to ionise the H atoms in ground state. When whole
expt. is repeated with the incident radiation of
5 v/6, the photoelectrons so emitted are able to
excite the H atom beam which then emits a
radiation of wavelength 1215 Å. The work function
of the metal is [Ionization potential of H atom=
13.6V; hc = 12400 eV Å]
1) 1.7 eV
2) 3.4 eV
3) 6.8 eV
4) 5.1 eV
