The number of antherozoids are more than the number of eggs produced by a most plant because there is a high chance of antherozoids to perish.

Explanation:

  • In case of the most plant the anther  are required to swim to reach the egg cells for fertilization of the gamates.
  • Due to this process the number of antherozoids are made more than and that of the eggs is the egg are immobile in nature.
  • Also if the number of antherozoids is made lesser then there is any chances that not even a single antherozoid reach the egg fertilization and completion of sexual reproduction.
