Let daughter age be x

and mother age be y

y - x = 19

y =19 +x

Five years hence,

daughter age = x+5

mother age = y+5

according to the question,

(y+5) = 2(x+5)

y + 5 = 2x + 10

19 + x + 5 = 2x + 10, solved above

24 + x = 2x + 10

x - 2x = 10 - 24

-x = -14

Minus and minus on both side cancel each other

x = 14

substituting in y = x + 19

y = 14 + 19

y = 33

so, mother's age is 33
