A mother is 32 years older than her son . In 4 years the mother's age will be 8 years more than twice that of her son . Find their present ages .​

Let son's present age be "Y" years.

First equation is:

X =Y +32...............(i)

Second equation is:

X+4=2Y+8

By substituting the value of first equation here we get,

Y+32+4=2Y+8

or, Y+36=2Y+8

or, Y-2Y=8-36

or, -Y=-28

So,Y =28

Son's present age is:28

years .

Then by substituting the value of Y into the 1st equation we get,

X=28+32

So,X =60

So,Mother's present age is:

60 years.
