Assuming that s1, s2, and s3 are the three parts of the total distance, v1, v2, and v3 are the three velocities for the three parts, and t1, t2, t3 are the respective time periods for the three parts.

Hope this helps! Thank you ❤️

Answer:

The average speed of the car is 16.36 km/h.

Explanation:

Given that,

A motor car covers 1/3rd of total distance with v₁=10 km /hr,second 1/3rd part with v₂=20 km/hr and rest 1/3rd part with v₃=60 km/hr.

Let total distance is 3 x.

The time is equal to the distance divided by speed.

The time taken t₁ for first journey

t_{1}=\dfrac{x}{10}

The time taken t₂  for second journey

t_{2}=\dfrac{x}{20}

The time taken t₃ for third journey

t_{3}=\dfrac{x}{30}

Now, The average speed of the car is

v_{av}=\dfrac{D}{T}

Where, D = total distance

T = total time

Put the value into the formula

v_{av}=\dfrac{3x}{\dfrac{x}{10}+\dfrac{x}{20}+\dfrac{x}{30}}

v_{av}=\dfrac{180}{11}

v_{av}=16.36\ km/h

Hence, The average speed of the car is 16.36 km/h.
