Car travel from A to B and then B to C.  Initial velocity is AB and Final velocity is BC.  The following are vectors.

Change in velocity = BC -AB  = BC + BA = BD

  Magnitude of BD  =  √(V²+V²) = √2 V = √2 * 50 = 70.7 kmph

The direction of the change in velocity is direction of BD, 45° south of West or South west.
