A motor car is moving with velocity of 144 kmh-1 and it takes 5 sec to stop after the application of braking force . Assuming the total mass of the motorcar and passenger as 1800kg , calculate the force exerted by the brakes on the motor car

therefore , a = (v-u)/t

=>a = (0-30)/4

=> a = -30/4 => -7.5 m/s²

force = mass × acceleration

force = 1000 kg × (-7.5) m/s²

force = -7500 kg m/s²

=> force = -7500 N

negative sign denotes opposing force
