A motor car starts from rest and accelerates uniformly for 10s to a velocity of 20m/s. it then runs at a constant speed and is finally brought to rest in 64m with a constant acceleration. total distance covered is 584m. find the value of accelartion retardation and total time taken.

It's acceleration is v-u/t=20-0/10=2
Final acceleration is v^2-u^2/2s=2^2-0/2(64)=0.03125
Total distance is 0.5at^2+x+64=584
100+x+64=584
X=420
Total time=10+420/20+[2/0.03125]
10+21+2/0.03125
