{\huge{\boxed{\mathcal{\red{Answer}}}}}

19km/h

{\huge{\boxed{\mathcal{\red{Explanation}}}}}

The average speed of a body is the ratio of total distance travelled to total time taken.

It is given un first case :

Car travels distance = 100m

speed = 40km/h

And it return with

distance travelled = 100m

speed = 25km/h

Now in the first case let the time taken be

t_1

So in first case time :

t_1 =  \frac{100}{40}  = dis \div speed

t_1 =  \frac{100}{40}

t_1 =  \frac{5}{2} sec

t_1 = 6.5sec

And the time that car takes to return back is

t_2 = dis \div speed

t_2 =  \frac{100}{25}

t_2 = 4sec

Now the average speed :

 \frac{100 + 100}{t_1 +t_2 \:  \: }

 \frac{200}{4 + 6.5}

 =  \frac{200}{10.5}

 = 19

Thus the average speed of car is 19km/h.
