GIVEN

A motorcycle covers 45.5km by 3.5L of petrol.

TO FIND :- The distance it will cover by using 8 Litres of petrol.

SOLUTION

This Question can be easily solved using Unitary Method.

This is a method where we calculate through after getting value of single unit.

Now Here,

It covers

45.5 km by 3.5L

3.5L = 45.5km

1L = 45.5 ÷ 3.5

1L = 13km

Hence by using 1 Litre of petrol the Motorcycle runs 13km.

Now for 8L

1 L = 13km

=> 8 L = 13 × 8

=> 8L = 104km

Hence the Motorcycle can cover 104km by using 8 Litres of Petrol. (ANS)

Answer:

104 km.

Step-by-step explanation:

The answer can be obtained by applying unitary method.

If in 3.5 L of petrol, the vehicle covers 45.5 km., then in 1 L of petrol, the vehicle will cover 13 km., as

3.5 L = 45.5 km.

⇒ 1 L = 45.5 km. ÷ 3.5 = 13 km.

Now, with 8 L of petrol, the vehicle will cover:

8 × 1 L = 8 × 13 km. = 104 km.

Thus, the motorcycle travels 104 km. with 8 L fuel (petrol).
