The cost required for completing the journey is equal to
rs \:  \: 240

Please refer the above photograph for the used process.

KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER :-

☸️ The average distance that a motor vehicle covers in 1 litre of energy fuel is known to be as the mileage of the motor vehicle.

Hence,

In this case :-

Mileage is equal to 45 km per litre

☸️ Total Amount of Petrol required is equal to total distance to be covered divided by the mileage of the motor vehicle.

Algebrically :-

petrol \: needed =  \dfrac{distance}{mileage}

☸️ Total costing is equal to the product of the amount of petrol and cost of each litre of petrol.

Algebrically :-

cost = petrol(amount)\\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \times cost(of \: 1 \: litre)

Hence,

The answer is Rs 240 for 540 Km distance at a mileage of 45 Km per litre and coat of 1 litre petrol as Rs 20

Thanks!
