LET US SAY SPEED OF BOAT IS X

SO SPEED OF UPSTREAM WILL BE X-1.5

DOWNSTREAM WILL BE X+1.5

SINCE S =D/T

5(X+1.5) = 5.5(X-1.5)

0.5X = 15.75

X = 31.5 KM/HR

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us say speed of the boat is x

so speed of upstream will be X-1.5

Downstream will be X+1.5

Since S = D/T

5(X+1.5) = 5.5 (X-1.5)
