Cᴏʀʀᴇᴄᴛ Qᴜᴇsᴛɪᴏɴ :-

A motorboat starting from rest on a lake accelerate in a straight line at a constant rate of 3.0m/s² for 8.0s.How far does the boat travel during this time?

Gɪᴠᴇɴ :-

  • Initial velocity (u) = 0 --(At rest)
  • Acceleration (a) = 3.0 m/s²
  • Time Taken (t) = 8 seconds

ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ :-

  • Distance travelled (s)

sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

On using 1st equation of motion, we get

s = ut + 1/2at²

s = 0×t + 1/2 × 3 × (8)²

s = 192/2

s = 96

Hence,.

  • Distance travelled (s) = 96 m

Correct Question :-

▪ A motorboat starting from rest on a lake accelerate in a straight line at a constant rate of 3.0m/s² for 8.0s.How far does the boat travel during this time?

_______________________________

Given:-

  • Initial velocity =0m/s

  • Acceleration =3m/s²

  • Time taken = 8s

_______________________________

To Find :-

  • Distance covered by motorboat.

_______________________________

Solution :-

By using 2nd equation of motion

s = ut +  \frac{1}{2} at {}^{2}  \\  \\ s = 0 \times 8 +  \frac{1}{2}  \times 3 \times 8 {}^{2}  \\  \\ s =   \frac{1}{2}   \times 3 \times 64 \\  \\ s = 96m

∴The distance covered by motorboat is 96m.

Equation of motion are :-

V=u+at

☛ S=ut+1/2 at²

☛ v²=u² +2as
