Total KM driven = 120Km

Total petrol consumed = 3ltr

So, distance travelled per litres is given by

120/3 = 40kms

Now, no of liters required to go 600km is given by

600/40 = 15ltrs

So the fuel required to drive 600km is 15ltrs

OTHER METHOD

Equating method

  • 3 liters of fuel is required to drive 120kms
  • ‘X' liters of fuel is required to drive 600kms

Equating both equations

120/3 = 600/X

By solving above equation we get 15 as an answer

So, to drive 600kms we need 15lits of fuel
