Answer:

A motorcycle is moving at the speed of 25 km/hr and its speed is increased by 7 km/hr at the end of each hour. How much time it will take to cover a distance of 225 km? Distance travelled in every hour will be equal to the speed. Hence, 30 km can be travelled in 0.5 hours.

Answer:

11/2 hrs.

Explanation:

GIVEN:

Initial speed = 25 km/hour

Total distance = 225 km

Distance travelled in 1st hour ate speed of 25 km/hour = 25 km

Due to increase in speed by 7 km/hour at the end of each hour

Distance travelled in 2nd hour = 25 + 7 = 32 km

Similarly, in 3rd 4th and 5th hour distance will be = 39, 46 and 53 km

So distance travelled by him till now in 5 hours = 195 km

Remaining distance = 225 – 195 = 30 km

Speed in next hour will be 53 + 7 = 60 km/hour

To travel left 30 km at speed of 60 km/hour, time taken = 30/60 = 30 minutes

∴ 225 km will be travelled in = 5 hours + 30 minute = 11/2 hours
