GIVEN

The speed of a motorcycle = 15 m/sec

The Time to be taken = 45 sec

TO FIND:- The distance covered

SOLUTION

Distance = speed × Time

= 15m/s × 45 sec

= 675m

0.675km (ANS)

Now We considered the answer in meter.

Just because the other units i.e. speed and time are in M.K.S. unit hence the distance shall also in meter.

we can convert a meter to kilometer by dividing the result by 1000.

Given :

• Speed of motorcycle = 15 m/s

• Time of motorcycle = 45 sec

Find : Distance traveled by motorcycle in 45 seconds.

Solution :

We know that..

Speed = \dfrac{Distance}{Time}

Distance = Speed × Time

Put the known values in above formula, to find the distance.

=> Distance = 15 m/s × 45 s

=> Distance = 675 m

=> Distance = 6.75 × 10-² m

A motorcyclewill cover 675 m in 45 seconds.

OR

A motorcycle will cover 6.75 × 10-² m in 45 seconds.

☆ More Information:

Speed :

  • Distance travelled per unit time.

i.e.

Speed = Distance/Time

  • It is a scaler quantity.

  • It's S.I. unit is m/s

  • Dimension = [L¹T-¹]
