Use second equation of motion and subtract the distance covered in 3s to that in 2s. {d}_{{3}^{rd} \text{second}}\\={s}_{3s}-{s}_{2s}\\=\frac{1}{2}\cdot1\cdot3^2-\frac{1}{2}\cdot1\cdot2^2\\=\frac{5}{2}=2.5 m
