A motorcycle starts at a speed of 20 m/s and attains 50 m/s in 10 seconds. Calculate acceleration of motorcycle.​

  • Acceleration of motorcycle is 3m/s².

Given :-

Initial velocity of motorcycle is 20m/s

Final velocity of motorcycle is 50 m/s

Time taken by motorcycle is 10 seconds

To Find :-

Acceleration of motorcycle

Solution :-

❍ We can find the acceleration by putting the values in the first equation of motion ::

v = u + at

Where,

  • v denotes final velocity
  • u denotes initial velocity
  • a denotes acceleration
  • t denotes time taken

Finding Acceleration :-

=> 50 = 20 + ( a × 10 )

=>  50 = 20 + 10a

 

=> 10a  = 50 - 20  

=> 10a = 30  

=> a = 30/10

=> a = 3m/s²
