Answer:

10 m²

Explanation:

Given :

  • Force exerted by the motorcycle = F = 1200 Newtons

  • Pressure exerted by the motorcycle on the road = P = 120 Pascals

To find :

  • Surface area of the tyre which is in contact with the road

Formula :

  • Pressure = Force/Area

Substituting the values :

120 = 1200/Area

120×Area = 1200

Area = 1200/120

Area = 10 m²

The area of the tyre in contact with the road is equal to 10 m²

More :

Si unit of pressure = pascals

Si unit of force = Newtons

Si unit of surface area = m²

✰ Given -

  • Force (F) = 1200 Newton
  • Pressure (p) = 120 Pascal's

To Find -

  • Surface Area of Tyre

Solution -

We know Formula for Pressure,

✓ \: </strong><strong>P</strong><strong> =  \frac{</strong><strong>F</strong><strong>}{</strong><strong>A</strong><strong>}

Here,

  • P = Pressure
  • F = Force
  • A = Acceleration

Placing Value,

⟶120 =  \frac{1200}{area}

⟶Area = \frac{\cancel{1200}}{\cancel{120}}

⟶Area = 10 {m}^{2}

⛬ Area in contact with road is 10m^2
