Let distance from A. To B be x Km.
Then, total distance = x + x = 2x
Given,, Speed to cover distance A. To B = 30 km /hr
Speed = distance /time
30 = x / t.,. t = x/ 30
Speed taken to Cover distance B to A = 20 km/hr
Speed = distance / time
20 = x / t, t = x / 20
Average speed = Total distance covered / Total time taken
Average speed = 2x / ( x/ 30 + x/ 20)
= 2 x / ( 2 x + 3 x) /60
= 120 x / 5 x km /hr
= 24 km / hr.
Then, total distance = x + x = 2x
