speed=30 km/h
let distance covered be x
then time=x/30

speed =20 km/h
let distance covered be x
time taken =x/20
average speed=total distance / total time taken
therefore  x+x/x/30+x/20
2 x/5x/60
2x ^60/5x
=24 km/h

Suppose the distance between A and B is d.
First case:When travelling with speed 30km/h.
Since , speed=distance /time
Therefore, time (t1)=distance(d)/ speed(30) =d/30
So, t1=d/30
Similarly t2=d/20
Since total time (T)= t1+t2=d/12
Average speed=total distance /time=2d/(d/12)= (d/d)×2×12= 24km/h
Hence the average speed is 24km/h.
