Here, we have two uniform speed and returning speed. Now, we use the average speed formula and find the average speed.

Average Speed Formula :-

➨ Total distance = uniform distance + returning distance

➨ Total distance = 40 + 30

➨ Total distance = 70km

Now,

Average Speed (AS) :

⇒ AS = 70/2

⇒ AS = 35

Average speed is 35km/hr.
