Question :-

A motorcyclist drives from A to B with a uniform speed of 40 km/h and returns back with the speed of 30km/h.find the average speed.

Solution :-

Here, we have two uniform speed and returning speed. Now, we use the average speed formula and find the average speed.

Average Speed Formula :-

{\red{\boxed{\rm{Average  \: Speed  \: Formula = \frac{Total \:  distance }{Total   \: time }}}}}

➨ Total distance = uniform distance + returning distance

➨ Total distance = 40 + 30

➨ Total distance = 70km

➨ Total time = uniform time + returning time

➨ Total time = 1 + 1

➨ Total time = 2 hour.

Now,

Average Speed (AS) :

⇒ AS = 70/2

⇒ AS = 35

Average speed is 35km/hr.
